Please find below a helpful guide designed to help you prepare for your special day. Of course the timelines can be shortened, but knowing how popular dates become booked up, this guide should help prevent any disappointments.

The Wedding Timetable

From 2 years	Decide the date and place of the Wedding Book Church (Registry office may be booked 12 months in advance) Reception venue Photographer Transport
From 1 year	Book Registry office if not a church wedding Decide on the number of guests and style of the wedding and make a list Order the invitations Book honeymoon and apply for passports if necessary Decide on Bridesmaids, Best Man and Ushers Order wedding cake
From 6 months	Choose a wedding dress and veil Choose Bridesmaids dresses and head-dresses Compile wedding list Order flowers for: bouquet, church and reception venue Bridegroom, Best Man, Parents and Ushers arrange hire of suits
From 3 months	Decide on the hymns and choice of music Once approved by the minister - arrange for Order of Service to be printed Arrange call of Banns Choose Wedding rings
From 2 months	Send out invitations Compile provisional table plan Confirm travel and hotel bookings Choose presents for Bridesmaids, Best Man and parents if required Confirm final arrangements with reception venue Make hairdresser/beautician appointment
From 1 month	Confirm details with: Florist Photographer Transport Final Fitting for wedding dress
From 2 weeks	Pay final balance to Reception venue Arrange a "trial run" for hair and make up Meet with Best Man and Chief Bridesmaid to finalise arrangements Start packing for the honeymoon Arrange final table plan
From 7 days	Pay any final balances due Collect wedding dress Send any thank you letters for presents received Pick up any printed stationery - orders of service, name cards etc Take order of service sheets to Church Give Best Man wedding rings Finish packing for honeymoon
